What is myFoodDays.com?

"myFoodDays.com is a service to automate the ordering of school lunches on behalf of the school or the PTO/A/HSA". We started in 2003 with Woodland Elementary School in Warren, NJ.

What features does myFoodDays provide?

• Says "Goodbye" to paper slips, counting, totaling and correcting
• Takes food orders from Parents on-line
• Manages food orders for the PTO/As when placing orders with the food vendors
• Takes and processes on-line payments (Credit, Debit, eCheck and Direct Deposit) on behalf of the PTO/A/HSAs
• Allows the PTO/A/HSAs to reconcile orders, payments and profits
• Provides reports for the food days to ease and speed up serving of the children's orders
• Automatically emails parents with reminders to order and to pay.
• Helps out the treasurer with statements and payment streamlining

How does it work and how do we get started?

To get started, we add your schools to the system. You then add in information about the Children's teachers and what homerooms you have (just names and grades, you don't have to add the children to the system), the dates upon which you serve food and what you serve. You also enter the prices that you pay the vendors and who they are.

Then, you mostly sit back whilst the Parents register and order on the system. At the end of the ordering period you receive the checks from those who didn't pay online and check them off into the system. Once you have the payments you can print or email out the orders to vendors. Lastly, you print up the daily orders so that the servers can hand out the right food to the right child.

What doesn't myFoodDays do?

• We don't provide food, that job is best left to local vendors but we're building a database of known vendors that we can recommend
• We don't serve the food; you wouldn't want us to have all the fun would you?

How much does it cost?

The charge for the system is 3.6% of the total revenue. There are no charges for usage, number of parents, etc. and there is no charge to set up the system and no commitments.

The more schools we get the less we'll need to charge for the shared services so tell a friend!

How did myFoodDays.com get started?

myFoodDays.com started life in Warren, NJ as a summer project to ease the burden on the PTO/A/HSAs who receive orders for school lunches on paper slips. The paper slips were sorted, counted and tallied up to create lists of orders for vendors and for the PTO/A/HSA volunteers who hand out the food to the children. The process could take the PTO/A/HSAs volunteers a day to finish, often with many errors. This online system will gave back a few things to both them and the parents! We're in our fourth year now with ten schools being served and the system is rock solid!

What happens if myFoodDays.com doesn't quite fit our needs or we want to add features?

myFoodDays is always in a state of flux, with each new school come extra features and all are added at no extra cost.

You can see for yourself how myFoodDays.com looks by signing up as a Parent on "Check It Out Elementary" the test school, you can then add some children and see how the order page looks.
